Hon. Hartford Oseke, a former Deputy Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, has tragically passed away. The respected lawmaker reportedly slumped during a routine exercise at Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka, Anambra State.
According to reports, Hon. Oseke was immediately rushed to Apex Hospital Awka in a desperate bid to save his life, but despite the efforts, he was pronounced dead before medical intervention could take effect.
At his country home in Umuawulu, Awka South Local Government Area, family members were seen in deep mourning, with many too grief-stricken to speak publicly about the loss.
Colleagues from the State House of Assembly have paid tribute to Hon. Oseke, remembering him as a “good man” and a “unifying force” during his time in office. One former colleague, who requested anonymity, expressed deep sorrow, stating, “He was a good man and a uniting force while he was at the hallowed chambers of the State Assembly.”
Hon. Oseke served two terms representing the Awka South 2 State Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly. He held the position of Deputy Speaker during his second term, where he was widely respected for his leadership and dedication to public service.
