Manchester United have reportedly been forced to abandon plans to unveil Casemiro before Monday night’s clash against Liverpool due to issues with the Brazilian midfielder’s visa.
The club had hoped to present Casemiro to their fans at Old Trafford on Monday night after agreeing a £60million deal in principle with Real Madrid to sign the 30-year-old midfielder. However, The Athletic claims the club have not yet acquired a visa for Casemiro, who will not be present for the match against Jurgen Klopp’s side.
That means that United fans will have to wait at least until next weekend’s trip to Southampton to get their first glimpse of Casemiro, who has been signed to try and solve Manchester United’s long-standing midfield issues.
Scott McTominay and Fred have left the Dutchman underwhelmed with their performances in humbling defeats against Brighton and Brentford – results that have left United rock bottom of the Premier League.
But it’s hoped that the acquisition of Casemiro – a five-time Champions League winner who has played a pivotal role in Real Madrid’s continued success over the past nine years – can spark an instant improvement for United, who will be expecting the veteran enforcer to bring some much needed balance to Ten Hag’s malfunctioning engine room.
