Chidimma Adetshina has emerged as Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 winner after her rejection in South Africa.
According to PENTALK360, Chidimma Adetshina, who previously had to withdraw from the Miss South Africa 2024 competition, has now been crowned the winner of the Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 pageant.
This online news platform recalls that the 23-year-old Chidimma Adetshina, a law student, came to Nigeria after accepting to participate in the Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 pageant.
The development followed her controversial withdrawal from Miss South Africa 2024 due to xenophobic backlash over her nationality.
Guy Murray-Bruce, the President of Silverbird Group and the pageant organizers, announced Adetshina as the winner at the grand finale held at Eko Hotels & Suites, Lagos, on Saturday night.
The winner of the Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 pageant represented Taraba State in the keenly contested competition, which had a total of 25 participants.
Miss Universe Nigeria – abbreviated as MUN – is a national beauty pageant in Nigeria to select a Miss Universe delegate. 2023 marked a revival of the original contest organised by Silverbird Productions, Nigeria’s Miss Universe franchise holder since 1983. The winner automatically becomes Nigeria’s Miss Universe delegate, while the 1st runner-up is the Miss Supranational representative. Although Hannah Iribhogbe occasionally used the Miss Nigeria Universe title during her reign, she had actually competed in MBGN 2022.
