Nigerian Afrobeats sensation, Patoranking, is mourning the devastating loss of his younger sister, Chioma, and her husband, George, following a tragic gas explosion at their home.
The heartbreaking incident, first reported by popular Instagram blogger Cutie Juls, occurred just a day after the couple had celebrated both the opening of their new home and their child’s birthday. Chioma reportedly died instantly in the explosion, while George, who initially survived, battled critical injuries before passing away on Wednesday, September 11, 2024.
According to Cutie Juls, Patoranking made every effort to save his brother-in-law’s life, including organizing an emergency blood transfusion. The artist was determined to prevent his nephew, who was yet to be born at the time, from becoming an orphan. Despite the efforts, George tragically succumbed to his injuries, marking a second devastating blow for the family within days.
The Instagram post from Cutie Juls read: “Remember when I posted last week or so that Patoranking’s sister passed away in a gas explosion in their home and the husband and child were fighting for their lives? The husband couldn’t make it, he just passed away…Patoranking tried so much, buying tons of blood to help save his brother-in-law’s life, so at least his nephew wouldn’t be born an orphan.”
The tragic loss comes shortly after what should have been a joyous time for Patoranking, who had recently celebrated his daughter’s sixth birthday. The abrupt and devastating turn of events has cast a shadow over the celebrations.
As fans and friends of the Afrobeats star rally around him in this time of sorrow, many have expressed their condolences and encouraged others to support Patoranking through this painful period.
This tragedy has sent shockwaves through the Nigerian entertainment industry, and social media platforms have been flooded with messages of support for Patoranking and his family.
