Music critic, Joey Akan has called out the organizers of Headies awards over favoritism.
Joey accused the award organizers of ignoring the bigger artistes crime but, banning the smaller artiste’s as they are both being investigated by the Nigerian police.
It should be recalled that singer Burna bot always accused of being complicit in a shootout that happened earlier this month.
According to reports, the Grammy awards winner took off immediately after the shooting where he didn’t stop his police attachment from wrecking havoc.
Meanwhile, Gisthood earlier reported that upcoming singer, Portable made an incriminating video of himself stating that he was the leader of the “one million boys” gang.
Although, he retraced his steps by making another video debunking his claim.
The police however invited him for questioning. These incidents lead to the organizers of Headies Awards withdrawing his nomination.
According to the award organizers, “The music industry demands all-round excellence, and it is extremely important for young artists being potential role models to exude professional responsibility, proper decorum and have respect for others.”
Now, Joey Akan’s statement clearly depicts that there is no smaller or bigger crime. So far both artistes presently have a police investigation going on, they should be treated the same way.

“Police recently announced investigations into two artists.
Headies ignore the bigger one, ban the smaller one.
Say whatever helps you sleep at night. And I know this viewpoint isn’t popular.
You can also argue, “this one shot bird, the other one sounded like bird.” Both of them had a common trait.
When we collectively invest power in a legacy platform, we ought to ensure fairness.
You can’t be picking off the worst of us, because we are the lowest hanging fruit.; The fight with the least mutually assured destruction.
Headies have had giants threaten each other publicly in its name. It kept mute. But when it wanted to virtue signal. It used a street boy.”
However, someone disagreed with his outburst and said; Bro, these are two different people. Portable even went as far as threatening the organizers of Headies. I think the organizers actually did the right thing.
As for Burna Boy, I don’t really have a clearer picture of what he did. But if the police finds him wanting, he will be caught definitely. Portable has said what should put him behind bars already.
